![]() Towards the tail-end of his degree, Yorke resumed playing with O’Brien, Selway and the Greenwoods, named themselves Radiohead, and became one of the most extolled alt bands in UK history. After leaving school Yorke headed to the University of Exeter where he worked as DJ at the Guild, contributed to the experimental excursions of a classical ensemble, and played with the band, Headless Chickens. During his time in school the budding musician spent much of his time in the separated music department, and spent fridays rehearsing with school mates and future bandmates Ed O’Brein, Phil Selway, and Colin and Johnny Greenwood. Initially inspired by Queen’s Brian May, Yorke received his first guitar at the age of seven and had built his own by the age of 10.
